Excerpt:
A large black wolf trotted into the clearing to confront me. He had a white-tipped snout, white boots and mitts and would have looked cute had he not been the most intimidating Werewolf I’d ever seen. Standing tall and solid, power rolled off of his body. His eyes bore into mine. I sniffed the air. The strong Werewolf scent of rosemary swirled around me, strong and seductive, laced with sugar. A weird fuzzy sensation spread out from my chest. Whoa.
Alpha.
My other form growled low, demanding release, straining against my skin. The energy of the wolves built—layers upon layers of excitement and impatience. The air pulsated with anticipation. They could sense the imminent kill.
Let me out! My other form repeated, throwing her power against my built up walls, howling in defiance.
When the energy of the Werewolves surged, I finally released her. My wolf form flowed out fast, wiping out the feline in little more than a heartbeat. Smaller, weaker and the size of a natural wolf, a Shifter in this form was no match for a Werewolf, especially a dominant one. I had time to meet the eyes of the Alpha for only an instant before the pack leapt forward. My limbs shook. It went against every instinct ingrained within me, but I rolled onto my back—submissive.

My Favorite Knight
A couple of weeks ago, I read a blog post about
an author reminiscing about her favourite years, and it got me thinking. What’s
my favorite year? I could hardly narrow it down. There are many from my
childhood I cherish, and certainly, there’s more now that I have a son and
value every waking and sleeping moment I get to be a part of his life, but what
year would be my favorite? What year represents a pivotal change in my life’s
path? And how can I describe a whole year in a simple blog post? Then a light
went on in my head. One moment in time, one glimpse, one short turn of the
tide…
One of my favorite years began when I
traveled to Europe with my sister after graduating University with a degree in
Animal Physiology. It had been a perfect night in Barcelona, Spain. Warm and
dark with clear starlit skies and refreshing ocean breezes. The night came
alive with coloured street lights, club music, heavy with bass, and the smell
of sangria in the air. I’d met my husband that night.
We’d walked hand-in-hand along the vacant
beach and stole moments under the moon with our feet sinking in soft sand and
the waves gently lapping in the background.
The night I met my husband created a
cascading effect of awesomeness in my life. Without meeting him, I wouldn’t be
where I am today, nor would I be the person I am today.
My husband often asks me if my characters
are people from my “real life,” and the answer is a resounding no…but, what I
haven’t told him, is that all the good qualities I put in the men, everything
that makes them alluring, charming and attractive, I take from him.
What’s your favorite moment?
